    Default Beede Tach

I've got a Beede Tachometer and it has 4 setting positions, does anyone have the setting meanings? For some reason I'm not showing over 2500 rpm. Thanks.

Have you switched the positions ?

    4-6-8 cylinders maybe ?

See if you can find installation instructions on the net.

The markings are 1 2 3 4 and the instructions just say to look at another discription. I guess I'll have to play with the setting and see what's what.

I searched the Beede site and came up with nothing. I figured you would have an answer by now. They do have a support forum over there.

You need to check the guage part no. too! When my boat was sold it arrived with an O/B tach in it! Worked but was reading incorrect! FWIW! WT

    I do think 1=4cyl. 2=6cyl. 3=8cyl. 4=10cyl.

I'll check to see where the switch is setting. I'm getting only a 2500 rpm reading on my BBF and I know it's doing better than that. Thanks

Just checked the switch settings and it was set at #4. If your numbers are right, it was wrong and now I set it to #3 to see what that does.

Do you have MSD? If you do you may need a MSD tach adapter, as a MSD 6AL may not match up with your tach. Just a thought.

Nope. No MSD. I've heard too many bad things about them lately,
