    Default HPC header coating cost

I have a set of headers that I am thinking about having coated as there is the normal surface rust between the pipes and just doesn't look good. Is this worth the trouble and what it the cost? I see quite a few sets on here for $350-600 for a better looking pair and figured it would be easier to get a nice used set.

Please forgive the ignorance as this is my first "header" jet boat.

call Jeff @ Embee Performance Coatings ... best in the business. And definitely worth shipping them out and recoating if they are not too hammered. They'll look brand new.

i kicked around the same issue & after talking to several company's that coat headers i decided it wasnt worth the cost to send them out & have it done...what i did instead was lightly sandblast them to get the rust off & any flakeing chrome & then Hi-Temp coat them with BBQ flat blk paint...after talking to Todd (ToddnJuzz), he told me what kind to get...Home Depot sells it by the qt/gal (might have to order it) (dont use rattle can)...they may not be chromed/coated & shiny, but, they didnt cost me an arm & leg to have done! ...when they start to look really bad, i just pull them off & re-coat them (i run water)...i'm very happy with the outcome & really like the way they look ...this is just my .02 cents

Had mine done a few years ago, by a commercial coater in MI. was not impressed, lack of luster, and dulled real quick. Mulled getting them done once again, decided to try and polish them up. A little elbow grease, the dullness went away, and they looked ok. Ran the boat for the first time since, they shined up real nice. Don't know why, but they look better than ever now. I used the same stuff I buffed the gelcoat with.... "Buff Magic" A true multi porpoise polish

Thanks for the good ideas. I have all winter to contemplate this issue. Who knows, I may do another turbo motor and not need them.
