That is / was the Wicked boats mold. Think it came from Okie Dave prior to that. You should be able to find plently on here by a search for wicked or okie dave.

    Default Open Invitation.....

Open invitation ....we are right now taping a gullwing for a customer in Northern California. The laminator and gel coaters we are using for the lay-up, are the same laminators that lay up for many top name brand boats in Havasu...and has done so for a long time....

my 2 cents, please come by our shop 850 London Bridge road and speak with the gel coater and laminator direct....ask him his experience, who he lays up for, how long he has been doing it.... what products he uses.... additionally, ask Bob any questions you could come up with...45 years later, trust me your head will be spinning...he is a smart man and a book of knowledge...

Everyone has 2 cents, mine is get it from the horses mouth, take what I just told you with a grain of salt... check it out for yourself. If your far from our shop, call Bud the gel coater (928) 764-2700 who works out of our shop. The laminators are sub'd out and Bob only hires the best...

Just got back from Havasu today, en-route next Friday, will post pics of the build if anyone is interested, retro white hull, with lemon yellow fade and purple, this will be a complete boat, we are rigging his power and jet in our hull... so it will be a good representation of the finished product.

    Thanks Kevin @ Cheetah

    Default good hull

That is a good hull. easy to lay up, easy to get 400 pound and plenty tough at that weight, assuming a good laminate schedule. This hull is also easy to set the boat up to run good on little power. as with any gull-wing boat, things begin to get dicey as speeds increase very much over 100. but they are quick.

I have seen the boat in person and I do know Bob. let me clarify its not really the hull lamination that needs alot of work its the bulkheads and floor and kick panel.. there is a lot of delamination going on in those areas . when I was there i was talking to one of the kids (rigger) about it and he told me he was told to put them in .. well if you don't know what your doing then you shouldn't have done it. The resin was mixed way to hot and started to setup before he was done and that can be seen from looking at it . IMO it should all get ripped out and be redone. so with all that said take it for what its worth..

Kevin one question for you ... what is your experience laying up boats?

    Default Resume???

Well.... I have greeted at Walmart for many years??? does that count?? LOL,

Hey, I could post my resume here, but honestly, if you read through my response, I was in no way claiming to be an expert "laminator". It is my opinion that there is always someone who knows more than me or you or whoever else, just my experience, when I have pulled my foot out of my mouth in the past...

I do know the guy who is sub'd out to lay up the Gullwing and would hate to go round with him...

My only suggestion to members or guests on this forum was to go look for yourself, investigate for yourself, talk to the experts for yourself, look at the boat yourself, then form your own opinion, you obviously have yours....

Working for Bob, owning several Cheetah boats (10 years later, 0 problems), I would be derelict in not responding to your original comment....

Also depending on your lay up weight and HP combination, Bob will sit down with you and in writing warranty the hull...

Any concerns about our layup, call Bob direct (928) 764-2700
