Default Question for jet boaters in Sacramento

I flew into Sacramento this weekend for a wedding. Drove down to Galt and Lodi. It was absolutely beautiful. After seeing the area I am going to take the boat back up there in the spring. How is the delta for jet boats? How far is the delta from Galt? Or is there a better place to go boating? Any info would be great.

I live 10 minutes from a launch ramp on the delta, but I almost never take the boat out there. It is lots of fun on the waverunner, but I think that there is too much stuff floating around out there for the jet boat. If you do go to the delta there are lots of resturants on the water where you can go to have a nice lunch on the water. There are also lots of cabin crusers and wakeboard boats to screw up the water, not to mention that last time I was out there in the jet boat I got pulled over four times and got a $200.00 ticket for being too loud.

I think that if you want to go fast there are lots of better places to go around here, where the water police dont mess with you.

Just my opinion, and I am sure that there are several other opinions......

Ever try Lake San Antonio? Its is South Monterey Couty, adn has great water in the a.m, and late p.m. We, the Hot Boat Outlaws go there regularly. If you are not an ass on the water, you won't have a problem.

There's a group of jets that get together at Tower Park on the delta each year. I missed it, but sounded like a great time. Camp Far West is north of Sac a little bit.

that's us. If you want to see a bunch of pictures from the outings and of the Delta, go to http://www.laidbackboaters.com click on Past Outings and then on any of the Tower Park links.
The Delta is a real good place to boat but it's really best to have someone with you that knows their way around. There are a lot of great restaurants to boat to, lots of excellent water to boat on and many sights to see.

We have been jet boating on the delta for 35 years. Right out of Isleton at Viera's resort. There is stuff floating but there is also a lot of nice water. Watch out for big yachts with the hammer down. rollers 3-5 ft. Wind is a factor also on the bigger water. We pull up there from L.A. 6-7 hrs. Every August for 7 days. Love the delta great for skiing, tubing, wakeboarding, adventure, laid back atmosphere. You could go every year and still not see everything the Delta has to offer. Oh ya, get a map.
