Default dumb idea. what do you think

i was thinking when you set the pump back on the boats it seems to be alot of work but it rewards. cant a bowl or extension ring me made to leangthen the bowl . im sure a longer shaft will be needed . or is there suction vs thrust issues ?

A Bowl Extension Would Be After The Bowl. It Would Have Nothing To Do With The Pump Shaft. What Hull Would You Want To Do This To? It Might Not Benefit Your Hull. I Would Just Start With A Snoot Or Droop.

Paging Tom!!!!!!! I would say anythings possible but if it hasn't been done there is a reason for it. Setting back the pump just works so well.

Sanger Fan actually in most Jet boats already equipt with Berk style jets the process of set back "work" is really not that tough (a little time consuming and messy) and the benefit or lack there-of varies from hull to hull and set up to set up , HP etc . Guessing you have a Sanger? and honestly not sure re the actual "benefit" part on your boat .I say this because of the "Sanger unique" jet intake and related intake pieces you may likley already have .There are lots bowl extensions , long and short droop snoots and straight snoots that will lengthen you existing split bowl if you wish to expiriment that may positively affect your current performance. Call or post up if we can help Tom

*My most recent Sanger 18' jet with standard position jet "did not like" the Bowl extension or droop and was very sensitive to all changes we tried. Granted it was little unique in terms of constructuion to most Sanger but still basically the same hull and bottom design

    Sanger drop thru intake :

    part of the expirinment

setting the pump back has more to do with the location of the intake than the extension of the nozzle. nozzle could be extended for miles, but it won't have the same effect as setting the intake further back. if the intake is set back, even if the nozzle is the exact same distance back from the transom, the boat will perform much better.
