Not enough info. to tell you bro.

Possibly a ride plate, could be as simple as weight distribution in the boat.

    Got pictures of the setup?

slow down. Like they say Dont do that. Dont you hate a Smart Ass? I had one like that and it was due to the drop I put on the pump. I ended up putting 60 pounds or so in the front to fix it. The drop still gave me apx 10 mph faster even with the weight in it.I bet someone here will tell you how to fix it right. Good Luck.

Does your boat have any plates on it at all? What has changed recently? Or is it new to you?

FWIW, that is not a Diverter and could be part of your issues. What you show a picture of is a Jet O Vater and don't work nearly as well as a Place Diverter.

With that set up, i would be suprised if you could get it to work much better, especially at 65 plus.

My little jet has a Place diverter and made close to 500 HP and would do just a tick under 85 but the slightest little ripple would upset it and then you were chine walking and looking to get out of the throttle mui pronto.

The boat now has a much milder motor and a different pump setup and I could not get it wet this year, but betting it will still get to at least 80, and I will be able to drive it.

Some boats just react different with more power. I like the weight in the bow idea.

i found the thing for a $100 so tried it but i think i just need to spend the money and get a real diverter. would a ride plate be a good idea. i am going to be striping the boat down to paint it,would setting the pump back do anything for me.

Well I would put some plates on it myself. Do like I said and Mr. Jet thinks and put some weight in the front. Like I said I only had about 60 pounds in the front to fix mine.

Setting the pump back may take care of the venting of the pump, but should buck even more (takes a bunch of HP and tuning to get it to work) and IMHO would be a futile effort.

Get a late style Diverter and I think you will find a dramatic improvement over what you have.....Mainly because of the Diverters built in ride surface. It really calms them down.

    Good luck with it.
