i bought this boat as a repo for 500.00 with almost nuttin but the hull then got the rest from the repoee for 700.00(no motor)then sold the pump plus some xtras for 900.00 i bought a american turbine sd 309(ebay700.00)added my ss "a" and an ultimate wr and straight snoot(just like htp),wedge and diverter,3.062 ftn 1/2 straight shoe 3/16 above keel,super sport style loader cut back to1/16 below keel,ride plate at 3.5*up(plate is 3.5 inches past the end of the bowl,should that be cut back to even with the bowl?) then my 532 ford...10.5 :1 cr eagle cast steel 4.3crank,eagle h beam rods,diamond forged pistons,edelbrock cj heads,comp hyd roller.622 gross lift in and out,duration240 in,248out,lobe sep 112 comp magnum p rods and stainless rockers,wieand t-ram with holley 750dpumpers(no mods)msd pro billet dist,msd coil,wires and digital6 box(built in retard for the spray) but i havent bought the spray yet,maybe after x mas.it cruises at 4000rpm and 80mph on the pitot speedo...max rpm is only 5200???? and the speedo is what would seem to be easily over 90 but speedo stops at 80..i know gps....kid stepped on it and cracked the screen...argh...i was hoping for a little more rpms,i would like to guess that my engine is easily 650 hp.the charts dont agree though.so 3 options 1,tach is not right 2.impeller is bigger than "a" or 3.way less hp than 650(this thing runs really strong)..........any one have desktop dyno?....any one have any good ideas to share,all are greatly appreciated.......thanx mikey
Those pitot speedo's are never right. I cruise at about 3500-4000 rpms and my speed is in the area of 50 mph (on gps). I would recheck it with a radar or a gps then check the chart to see where you are at. I'll bet you are closer to 50 than 80. If you are doing 80 give me your address I'm coming to you to do some work for me.
