    Default Uhh... this kinda sucks...

So I install my super cool... almost like new... bad to the bone pop-off valve... I give her a try with the shop air regulated down and it works killer. Up and down... up and down... I'm stoked right. I hook it up to the co2 bottle and I get about 1 1/2 cycles out of it and she's out of wind. So my question is... anyone else running a smaller than the 2.5 lb bottle for thier pop-off valve... like a 10oz? If so... how many cycles do you get out of it? I'm hoping that dude that refilled the bottle just chumped me and didn't fill it all the way... it had about 750psi in it to start.

Get a bigger bottle. The smallest of leaks will use up what little co2 you have.

i run the 2.5lb bottle and i think I get about 9 cycles out of it before its wasted. the air shifter doesn't eat up much but the pop-off does a lot.

Don't know what kind of operating systems you guys are using but it sounds like you have leaks. I run a 2.5 bottle and use the same bottle for 2 or 3 race weekends with an air bucket also.

    Nice !!!

We only run air to hold the piston down !!! Intake pressure push's the piston up ! this saves a ton of air and never want's to rip the valve off the intake this way. Its easier on the bolt's that hold it on too.

    Default 10oz bottle

Switch to the 2.5 lb. Or carry lots of spares. I use the 2.5 and carry a spare in the boat. When at the lake, never know how many times I'll use it. And sucks to run out. Have always fought a slight leak from a gouge in the cylinder from an incident. Filled with JB Weld and much better.

Don't forget to turn off at the end of a race. Did that one time and ran the bottle out. When I launched my daughter at Ming one morning, the bottle was empty. Didn't tell her, but after the run she's telling me somethings wrong, boat seemed a little sluggish, cavitation..... must be the pump as the engine numbers looked good. I said she was very observant and would fix it. Left it at that. She quizzed me later as it all ran good next pass and she didn't see me do anything to fix it.

What happens when you run out of co2? I assume the valve wont close? Does that mean the boat wont go anywhere?

    Default valve

Yes, the valve won't close. You can manually force it down, but you will have a major cavitation issue. And from experience, you go nowwhere.
