    Default found my project

Think I might have found my project jet (sorry for the crappy cell pictures) part of divorce deal so the lady doesn't seem know much about it but its 18 sleekcraft and has a 12j Berkley jet which looks good , no motor guess it had an oldmobile and the jet shaft turns over but kind of sounds "gritty" ? probably needs some work inside
What do you guys think for $500 bucks anyhow

Hard to tell from the pics, but if the hull is solid then it looks like a fun project!!

As long as the pump isn't completely hosed............that alone is probably worth $500.

Gene ,the grit or grating could be a little sand or grit between the wear ring and impeller however if the boat has been setting a for a while (and it kind of looks like it has) I would give thought to "freshening" the Jet as part of your project for sure and like said the jet is probably worth the purchase alone Tom

Gene, you will need a 1 13/16 Jet drive deep socket $$ or same size wrench preferably. Or you may be able to use a large Crescent for the task , with the jet out of the boat holding the pump shaft may be a little tricky , if you have the drive line (or the splined input part) you might be able to make use of it to hold the splined end of the shaft while removing the nut This may be a 2 person job with out power tools , feel free to call or Pm if you need help Tom
