    Default New project...taking the plunge

Was planning on pulling the 460 out of my boat for a checkup and a couple upgrades over the next couple months. I have a 6.0 Lq9 i got stuck with from a customer gone a-wall a while back. I think im gonna stuff it in there and see how it acts. I checked out those cassell headers they offer, but it dosen't look like they come with the jacketed risers? Does anybody know if they have them? Planning on keeping the motor stock for now, running the factory injection open loop with no 02's. It will be a no brainer to tune that way, the motor is stock and should run well with the factory open loop cold start tune thats already in the computer. I think it will anyways, but well see. Does anybody have any experience with the cassell LS exhaust manifolds? It looks like they have a adapter for the Crank flange to my current Ujoint assembly also, so that gets me off the hook for making that up also. Im sure it wont be a rocketship, but its gotta be faster than my hardin 460, and better on gas and super reliable.

I just order the flywheel bolts from GM when i need them. They're about $25-30 for a set, but they're shouldered in the right spots and come coated in a threadlocker compound like factory. Sounds good on paper, i just need to get wrenching!

Go to the cassell website and they're under the LS1 marine stuff section.

Im planning on taking pics as i go. Im currently running a A impeller, The boats almost 23' so ill probably keep the impeller where its at to keep the cruise rpm lower. Maybee a blower will be in its future to get it to RPM and push the boat faster with the A impeller, if all goes well with the initial testing. Kind of hurts to pull the 460 out, its been good to me the last 3 seasons. But that oil pressure when warm seems like its dropping a little at the end of every season, so i can imagine what the main bearings are gonna look like when i pull it. Guess stock old school truck motors dont' like being held @ 4000+ Rpm for long periods of time!

Check with Pig Pen on the Taylor site, he put a 6.0 in an SJ last summer.

are those gonna be long nuff? i was wonder if i ordered bolts for a standard trans flywheel they might work, but i'm running alil bit of power and didn't wanna modify the pto adaptor and hurt its integrity, i plan on putting 1200hp to it in the near future.
