As the boat in your thumbnail appears, I would guess low-to-mid 70-75 mph. That hull looks to be in great shape, the engine will dictate top speed as will driver. Also, we can't see what it has for a pump.

These SW 18-foot hulls can be pushed easily to 85 mph with nice BBF.

They can also be repaired and there is notnhing prong with a properly repaied hull. Yes, be sure to inspect the floor and underside of any boat that you are considering for purchase.

they are good boats. most were 1/4 stringer, but thats not what makes them crack..hell they are 30+ years old and fiberglass gets brittle. what causes the s/w to crack on the outer strake is thats were the "pad" stoped. the pad is the riding surface. its an easy fix, done several. the pad consists of more layered glass to prevent flexing and was not laid up across the whole bottom side to side. just take a peak at the strakes underneath and it will jump right out at you. some people see cracks at the strakes and think its a stucture issue, when in fact, its just a not a very good bond between the gellcoat and the glass when it was laid up and created an air bubble in the corner.

i agree with lakes, power will dictate the performance, but i have seen some real monsters and run in the 90's, but i wouldnt want to even get clse to that mph. a safe conservitive boat for skiing and enjoying your time on the water. its no race boat, but it will put a huge smile on your face!!!

My boat had a stock 460, went about 60. I did a little work to the motor (bout 500hp) and some pump work and she was at 75, and thats with me driving. I loved that boat.

I had one that Norm Grimms built for my friends dad years ago. Great boat but I did crack the hull in Havi. in 00' with it. It was a nice little hot rod. Very fun boat. Had new stringer and floor put in it. I miss that boat.
