Default Typical 21 daytona jet weight??

Have a buddy who bought a 21 daytona out of Michigan and it is supposed to have a kevlar bottom on it and be much lighter than other 21's. He weighed the boat this weekend and it weighed 1960lbs ready to hit the water....

It has a 496 BBC with aluminum heads, single 4 intake with a dominator and nitrous plate kit. Two bucket sytle front seats, full back seat, no carpet, two 10 gal tanks, AT pump with 9.5 stainless inpeller.

Is this a normal weight? Light? Heavy?

    Thanks Guys!!!

It's certainly not a light boat.

Sounds pretty standard. Bare hulls were around 850 to 1000 lbs I believe. Mine is probably around 1000 lbs. Go figure motor with full trim weighs 700 lbs, pump 100 lbs, interior, carpet, gas tanks another 200 pounds.

    Thanks Duane and Kjell!

I have been wondering on the Kevlar bottom that was claimed to be on this hull, when he bought it I believe the guy told him it was around 650lbs bare hull but the numbers do not match up at that weight.

He did get a great deal on the boat but currious to how it stacks up in weight against other 21's. It is also supposed to run 86-87 on the engine then 116 on a 300 dose of spray, maybe he can get it out soon and see what it's really all about.

    Default 21 Daytona

The weight you have come up with seems to be about right for a standard layup. I find it hard to beleive that a 30 mph increase on a 300 shot is possible Iwould be more inclined to put the boat in the mid to high 90,s

Thanks Greg!! I was hoping you would also chime in on this for us as this is the first 21 we have had to play with.

Anybody know what the Liberators weigh? My buddy has one and its very light on the deck and sides. I called Liberator back in the day and I believe the guy said that they come out of the mold around 800-900lbs. Can anyone verify this?
