Question Newbie with new build... 78 Taylor 22 daycruiser

Well guys this is what I got a all stock 78 Taylor 22ft daycruiser it has stock 460 with thru trans exhaust with a jc pump I believe I know it has factory trim... I am looking to
completely over haul (paint, motor, interior and pump). I want a nice
looking and riding boat that's y I went for cruiser but I'm also a racer at heart and on the track so I got to make it go as fast as posible
on the budget too... So what are some good things to
look for on jet boat as far as go fast goodies ( diverters, loaders, stroked motors, diff impeller, and etc) I would like to go as fast as poss without having to rob a bank... Lol so all u guys with some cheap racer secrets please chime in. Thanks

Fast, cruiser, and budget should not be used in the same paragraph with a Jet Boat. You can not have your cake and eat it too.

Ha ha ha... I understand u can't have it all but what I'm asking is what are
good starting points.... I mean u don't just go out and buy the biggest if everything and expect it to be perfect... There are specific combos on just about every vehicle...

So what's is a good rule of thumb on boat speed with everything working properly.... Like say u take a boat that does 65 with 450hp and u add a hundred or even 200 Hp/tq what's the est gain of speed u could expect

It depends on the hull and set up. The Taylor would pick up about 1/2 the speed that a tunnel hull would with the same HP increase. Also, as you go faster and faster the tunnel will handle better. If you make the Taylor go fast enough, you will eventually run into a handling problem. The Taylor day cruiser is a good faimly ski boat. That is what it was designed for; IE Day Cruiser. It is normally known as a very sturdy reliable lake boat, not one of the faster boats out there. Why not tell us what your budget is, we will tell you what you can afford.
