    Default Through transom headers?

Is it possible to take headers, weld water injection bungs on them, and run them under a engine cover in a through transom environment? Similar to CMI headers, factory Mercury racing headers used on 600sci motors, 525's , etc? Im still planning on putting a LSX into my day cruiser, but not looking forward to spending $1200 plus on a set of jacketed exhaust manifolds. Thanks for the info!

Injected headers get way too hot to cover them up. If there is any hint of gas fumes under the cover, it could cause a pretty good sized kaboom.
The jacketed headers are cooled with water so they don't get any where near the temps the injected ones get.

10 or 12 coats of ceramic might get them cool enough

Id love to find a takeoff set of LS series marine manifolds. Im sure they are fairly scarce though as of now, but if anybody sees any, let me know!

I think it was talked about before but, why not build an adapter, use a set of ls flanges to adapt the exhaust of the most similar design.

you can build your own log style headers coat and wrap em you're not gonna find any used ls marine stuff, i know i had to build my ls turbo headers the way i wanted just to make it look and work right, i built long tube primary log style headers for it. i'll put some pics up after they're final tigged, was sick last wk and didn't get much done they look really good though

Dare to be different, if it turns out great you can claim you planned it that way.
