are the edelbrock heads the same for cars and boats. sorry for a dumb question
I don't believe Edelbrock makes a marine specific head like they do for the BBC's if thats what your asking. The biggest difference in the Marine version is the anodizing. If your not running in brackish or seawater you should be fine.
I've got a BBF running the Edelbrock Performer RPM heads (not marine specific). My motor is in the shop being rebuilt right now. I ran the heads for 8 or 9 seasons without issue. However, when the machine shop bead blasted them and the crusty lime and calcium deposits came away, it was discovered that the hard river/lake water had almost eaten it's way through the water jackets. They were able to weld em up and the heads are serviceable again and will go another 8 or 9 seasons (fingers crossed).
I'm not sure if this could be avoided or not, or if the anodizing that Josh mentioned would help with this problem.
I never did anything special with the motor over the off season so rinsing the block out with some city/tap water after use might help.........might not.

Edelbrock doesn't make a "marine" version of the Olds heads but you can use the standard ones. I have a set on my Olds and they're fine. I don't know if I'd run them in saltwater, but other than that you should be good to go.
