so i am finally going to get insurance tomorrow (finally old enough he he), one of the questions that i was asked was how much does it cost..... well i have no idea it has bin in my family for ever. so if some people could ring in on what it might cost, don't worry about my feelings and i can do the conversion for Canadian so just chim in no worries, so it is a 78 side winder lo pro (maybe a clone or not) 79 454 re built in 1991, hei, 850 holly, stock every thing. pump re built in 2007 stock. paint is rough. trailer is 1991 b and m, tandem axle , drum serge brakes (all new from master to slaves), all new carpet, rough paint, and crap tires. any other info just ask

i pay $500 a year and the boat is insured for $10,000 and $250,000 per person in liability. doesn't sound like the motor has over 500 hp but if so tell them a number well under 500 or it cost way more. i am 25 with ok driving record

well looking at the jet chart from Dunne im telling them its under 250. but im looking for a cost my unit that is what the question was. so what would you pay for it? i had such a hard time when i looked last they had every excuse under the sun, to young, to fast, to much horse power, not worth enough, worth to much, to big, to small. you name it i heard it from the under writers.

I looked into it and most companies will not cover your trailer.

when i had m boat insured , luckly i got a good agent. one this i was told. in the even the boat goes down and recovered or damaged and in anyway the boat was under power when it happened. the insurence company has a right to inspect. meaning if you have 500 hp and you tell them 200 hp and something happens if they inspect it, they can deny the whole claim. but if you have 500 hp and say 375-400. well chances are alot less they will look at it. my spectra jet came with a 460 ford in it. i used factory hp for it remember in bad economy the insurence companies are doing more to save them from paying out.
