    Default Windows 7 pro ?

Question: has anyone ran the Data boxes from Jack with Windows 7 pro? I was told that windows 7 pro will also run in XP mode.

have you tried it? The biggest thing i've noticed with windows 7 and programs that are trying to use interfaces is that they need to be run in administrator mode... Even if you are logged in as the admin. With out the program running in administrator mode it can not run certain commands or use serial ports/usb devices/etc..

Right click on the programs shortcut, click the compatibility tab, under "privilege level" check the box that says "run this program as an administrator"

If you want, you'll notice above that there's a checkbox for "run this program in compatibility mode for" and will give you a bunch of old windows versions. From my experience this does nothing and has not ever helped a program to run properly, even back in vista it did nothing.

Administrator mode is probably what you need.

Every version of windows has it's problems. People tend to not like the new versions because they come with new problems. The old version they like to run has it's own problems, the only difference is that the user has come to terms with these problems. Then they get a new OS and now they see a new problem and they dont know what to do... Even though it's the same crap.

Windows 7 is better than vista, just like vista was better than XP. They all still have there problems. The thing that annoyed me the most with windows 7 was how it tried to immitate the mac with pining applications to the taskbar and grouping them together. Thats a easy fix though, go into the properties and tell it to quit being gay

DK, if you have a Windows 7 machine still with the software on it, give the administrator mode instructions i gave you above a try. I would be good to just know in general if it works or can work.

Probably the best thing. It will be a while for W7 to completely replace XP. My desktop is W7 and I just use it for graphics. Everything else I use my laptop with XP.
