    Default Help choosing jet-pump.

    Hi guys

    New to this forum....
My first post goes out to someone who knows their way around Jet-pumps.

I need some help in choosing a jet-pump for my next project...
I'm taking everything a big step up from the 11ft jetboat I just built, and are now building a 20ft V-hull boat. I will buy the boat pre-assembled and then cut the hole for the pump. I'm going to use two Rotax turbocharged engines linked together to a singel pump. The engines will put out about 350hp each.

I need help with choosing the right pump for this.
The engines are turning 8-8500rpm, but i can change ratio of the gears if the pump would like lower/higher rpm. The boat weighs ca 1800lbs race ready.

I have been looking at the Berkeley 12JR racing pump... Is it worth the penny? Money isn't the biggest problem... I want good parts

    Here's a link to the 20ft boat:

And here's a link to the 11ft boat:

That's not a Jet Boat hull and you're going to get into shut down problems without that Bridgeport dragging on the back of it, if you go very fast. Be very careful. Duane HTP

That boat does not look like it has enough room to mount two engines and have them far enough forward to allow them to attach to a pump. The pump you mentioned is a good pump, but I would look for a boat designed to be used with a pump as stated above.

There is plenty of room for my two small engines!!
The engines comes from the PWC seadoo rxp... 1500cc each.
The 11ft boat I just finished has the same degree V-hull and I got it up to around 80mph with a 300hp on 3/4 trottle. It's not finish tested yet, and I think I might see 85mph.
What do you meen by shut down Duane?
I'll see if I can find the torque...
I know it's a lot of money and work to "play" with, but it's my passion.
The 11ft boat was my test-project, now it's time to step up a notch.

    Thanks for all help guys!!

Are they turbo charged or supercharged.

    I own a 2008 RXP 215 HP (supercharged) in stock form.With stage 3 Mods, I only get 250HP.

    It's turbocharged... It's running with 15-20lbs boost.

my .02 worth i would go with a dominator with stainless impellor and a standard intake, good strong pump, can be had from american turbine, can check with ron there for second opinion but he recommended the dominator to me as a stronger pump for my application.

What do you meen by shut down Duane?
The bow entry is too steep and deep for a safe jet boat. It will give you bow steer problems. If you make that boat run 80 mph and let off the throttle too quick, YOU ARE GOING SWIMMING! True jet boat hulls have a much more sleek gradual entry from the bow nose to where the boat contacts the water. If you are dead set on this project, at least find a jet boat hull to work with. It will greatly improve your chances of making this a worthwhile project. Duane HTP

This would be the perfect boat for the Agressor Jr. dual drive set up.
