Default Additional NJBA Race Dates ...

    June 21-22
    September 20-21

October & November dates are soon to come (after the board meeting next Tuesday)

Before anyone says anything ... we asked for the weekend date BEFORE the IHBA event in San Diego during Sept ... this is what Kern County gave to us.

Good news is for our regular racers ... we have more dates on the schedule at Ming.

    Default RE: the Newpaper

Lake Ming will remain open during renovations

Lake Ming will not close for renovations after all.

Kern County is planning to rebuild aging docks and two outdated boat-launch ramps at the man-made county lake east of Hart Park.

An old restroom building will be demolished and replaced as will portions of the two parking lots at the lake.

    New lighting will be added.

But the work will not require a four to six-month closure of the popular recreation lake near Bakersfield as first expected, said Parks and Recreation Director Bob Lerude Thursday morning.

The county Parks and Recreation Committee was to discuss the possible closure Thursday night.

But Lerude said a full closure of the lake isn’t needed.

The lake has two similar boat-launch, parking, restroom and picnic areas on the south side of the lake.

One area can be closed and renovated while the other remains open, Lerude said.

We'll see if they really fix it up.
But, per the article, they are not closing it this summer.

I guess the Kern County doesn't like San Diego.

most of the racers don't like S.D. they only go cause it's a points race, Ming would be a nicer venue for these racers anyway, imo.

I don't think KCP&R cares about the overlap ... it would be nice to have it on a different weekend, I will miss Ming & be in SD crewing for Mike Fry on his TAH

Don't care about the points. It is close, they have a good purse ,have alot of
spectators and a good party.Boats that are not in the top 8 in points are trying to get in.
