    Default Lake Mead info?

Hello everyone, thinking of doing a trip to lake mead at the end of july. Meeting some family from oklahoma/texas and dragging a couple of buddies with me from san diego.

Anyone have info on a good place to stay, where to boat, would a house boat be a good idea? I havent been to lake mead in over 15 years (when i was a kid).

Did a house boat trip late last summer......Only way to do Mead IMO....The lake is low, but it is a HUGE lake even when 120 ft low. House boat rates are pretty reasonable right now as well. Especially if you can get a group to chip in on it.
    I'd rather be boating

Steve, it's a great idea to rent a houseboat and have everybody stay on it with you. BUT it's not cheap. So make sure you figure out the finances in advance. We've done it before and it's alotta fun. If you gonna do it. I live in Boulder City, closest to lake and I'll help anyway I can. Send me a PM. pat

What is the water quality like and do you have any recommendations on where to rent house boat from and park the trucks? Also do I need to try and set a plan on where to cruise/ places to check out around the lake or just go where the water takes us?

Water quality/clarity is getting better and better with the quaggas. Bring booties though, they will cut your feet up. Last time I dove there, visibility was like 40 feet or more.
