    Default Scoop Mount

I have a Harwood #3159 scoop that I want to use on my boat but I am having troubles figuring out the throttle cable mount. I purchased a Goza scoop tray (3" drop base) along with the scoop mount that goes with it but the mount is set up for a pull type throttle were mine is a push type. My boat also has a 1050 Dominator carb. I tried to turn the scoop mount over and switch the mounts to the other side but the accelerator pump arm hits the scoop mount. Who has run into this and what have you come up with?

if ur present cable doesnt fit to work with a pull mount, i would suggest getting a longer cable so u can run it with the mount u purchased! ...would make it alot easier & u wouldnt have to beat ur brains out! ...just sayin'

Wouldn't you also have to buy a pedal that pulled the cable! And buy a longer cable to fit to the scoop tray cable mount! I went through this with my first boat! WT

oopppsss ...now that i think about it, ur rite!...standard pedal would still push...Pics of the set-up would be "really" nice, cause i think its a simple fix...i never did like the Goza set-up!...i would just use the tray to the scoop & get a bracket that bolts to the carb which allows u to push...i have one for my Dom...its a little wider than the 4150 bracket & works fine

Were did you get your Domi cable mount and who makes it? All that I have seen are for 4150/4160 carbs.

you should be able to push or pull with most carbs, spin the carb around or spin the mount around 180 degrees. Most of the time guys will make custom cable mounts out of 1/4" material. Should be plenty of ideas on here.

I figured out what I needed and wanted to post what I did in case someone runs into the same problem. I did end up turning the scoop mount bracket upside down. At that point I installed a 1" aluminum spacer on the bottom of the carb and put the scoop mount under the spacer and onto the intake manifold. Then I had some new scoop mount stands machined 1" taller to compensate for the carb spacer. This raises the carb enough so that the carb mount will not interfere the accelerator pumps on the dominator carb. I will post some pics when I get a chance.
