    Default Paging Robert Jonsssson

Robert, is it true you bailed on the 999 team cause they suck ass and are coming to pit for the 418 team instead because they are way cooler and faster?

Just what I heard today and wanted to see if it was true.

    Thanks

    Talking

Just wanted to give a warm welcome to our newest crew member Robert Jonssson Jr.

Effective immediatly.... Jonsson Jr. formerly of Wrong Way Racing has traded in his blue uniform for a black one.. As of yesterday afternoon Jonsson Jr. made the move from the 999 team over to the 418 team where he will be head of nitrous bottle operations and will co crew chief with J. Woods on the 418 machine as they march their way into the 7.70's at the April event in Bakersfield, Ca.. In a recent interview with Jonsson Jr. he stated "Im just over those 999 guys and want to go to a team that is capable of running low 7.80's, those guys are just complete toolbags over at Wrong Way Racing and I'm tired of shooting ducks on the race track and running crappy ET's".

Sources say team owner of the 999, Michael Garret Finnegan stated in a heated interview yesterday that "Im upset to see Robert leave the team, he was a total pile as a crew guy and was never around but its cool to have 9 crew guys for a single carburated jetboat, hopefully we can get by with only 8 guys" Michael stated.. He also mentioned "its going to be a stressful April race for the 999 team until we find 5 more crew guys, this is no way to start the season but we will do our best with what we've got" Michael said.

The NJBA series starts up again in a week at Lake Ming where these 2 teams will punch off in the 8.0 class.

Congrats on the new hire. It will be a true loss for the 999 team

In an "Off the Record" interview, Jonsson stated the real reason he jumped ship was because Team Wrong Way Owner/Driver Mike Finnegan wouldn't let his crew eat breakfast on race days. Jonsson remembers a race at the world famous Firebird in Phoenix where he almost starved to death. "We were on our way to the track and were starving. We asked Finnegan if we could stop and grab some breakfast on the way, nothing special just some drive through. I remember Finnegan said, "No, we got snacks." When we got back to the pits we found out that the "Snacks" was a bag of chips."

Wow!! You go away for a weekend and all hell breaks loose. I heard rumors floating around before I left but this is pretty shocking. Robert gave up a shot on a Top Fuel team to work with the 418 team? Chris good luck with your new crew member but I think the 999 team will OK, we still have R. Joyce
