You need to post more pics of the hull, pump, motor, interior and trailer..also details on the motor and pump and more guys will chime in better opinions..at least call the guy and get more details and then post them..have him email some photos if he can..

i bought a boat once without lake testing it sounded great on the trailer with no water 2 it little did i know it had a blown head gasket ran in the water 3 minutes and locked up tight ......the moral of the story is i don't care if its snowing i put it in the water before im droping that kind of money........................and if the owner aint willing 2 and u got cash in your hand he's got something 2 hide....................

good advice can i just put a hose in the pump and run it out of the water, a lake is a hour away. I figured i would start the boat with a water hose in the pump and let it run for 5 to 10 mins and let the motor get warm and make sure everything sounds good. what yall think

without water going 2 the pump thats not a good idea and you have no way 2 put a load on the motor idling on the trailer some problem's only show themselves under load and pressure put it in the water is the owner willing 2 do so ....................8grand would be a lot of money 4 that boat if the motor was lame............i like taking a gps with me also so i can see just what the boat is capable of............

Also you can see the pump perform, and get a better look at the trailer, once the boat is off. The bottom line is that the owner has nothing to hide at this point. Plus if things come up, price is subject to negotiation.
