    Default Opinions needed please.

I am trying to decide if I want to either paint the outer sections of my bilge between the stringer and the saddle tanks or if I should buy some polished tread plate to lock down on to the bilge floor. I think the tread plate would look awesome but how long will it keep its mirror finish.
If I paint it what kind of paint should I use to do it and what type of prep work is involved?

get a good electric hand sander, get any paint or coating off that u can, then shoot some epoxy paint on it. that's what i'm about to do to the whole inside of my lil tunnel hull, and i'll web some color into it to match the outside of the hull.

Dare to be different, if it turns out great you can claim you planned it that way.

I say leave it. I'd also remove the diamond plate from the aft seating and install carpet.

I painted the area in mine because the glass looked so bad and I didn't want to sand and fair. I used some poly garage floor paint and it's holding up well.

Any single part marine epoxy would work.

I appreciate you input but I gotta disagree with you about the tread plate on the back of the rear seat. I really like that on there.

I actually like the bare floor look. Great looking boat, what hull/year is that?
