I was thinking about putting a Jetovator or Place Diverter. How much speed will I pick up? I have a 1980 Rochelle closed Bow. 454 12JC A impellor does 50mph now. Will I pick up any speed or just shoot a Rooster
I'd definitely go place diverter-don't know if you'll pick up speed but you'll gain some drivability because you can raise the bow to take waves.Oh and shoot a rooster!devil
What kit will install on a stock 12JC? I just installed pump and motor and dont want to pull motor and pump. Has the vertical holes for nozzle not the 2 piece bowl. Any on have one they'd like to sell? Or what kit should I get?
If your boat is setup right you should not gain any mph. What they are good for is basicaly adjusting the trim for different water conditions, pulling skiers ect. and of course doing the huge rooster tail. I really like the hydraulic setup, you can trim the boat out in very small increments with the touch of a button on your steering wheel.
Jet-o-vater and Place Diverter seem to be simlutaneous these days. They are very different animals, though. The original Jet-o-vater, a Berkeley product probably no longer made, does its business before steering where the Place unit does it after. Good/bad/indifferent.
Personally, all my running boats have PD units. I have two Electric Jet-O-Vaters for sale if interested! (From a new project. Long story, but it's going Hydraulic PD's for simplicity's sake. Complicated enough as it is!).
just my .02 cents but ive had both and i prefer the jetovator it steers sharper and has a better rooster tail although the place diverter is a much easier install and easier to get since berk isnt producing the jetovater anymore
