Harry I have one of these and have serviced a few in the past , very "typical" mid 70's boat mine looks to be decent , its a full stringer boat kind of resembles an Eliminator or Bahner There were , to my recollection made in the South Bay area maybe San Jose ... Tom

ps two I have seen had Belly tanks in the sub floor vd standard gunnel types

Wonder if there was alot of Legal red tape when everyone was splashing all of these Eliminator/SW type of runabouts back in the day, anytime you hear of any splashing going on these days, there is always threats of lawyers and patten rules???
Wonder if anything has really changed at all, I have heard of the certain % change to the plug constitutes it sufficient to call it your own any info?
PM's are fine, sorry to hijack this thread!

My old man bought a record 7 new in 1979 in Redwood City. They were manufactured in Palo Alto. We just got our old boat back after 30+ years in other hands. I would post photos and other items that I have found after searching for the boat for about 10 years.

I talked to the builder a few years ago. Mike Butler, now lives in Oklahoma, as I recall.
I believe he said it was based on a Hallett.
He built hardware for the boating industry as his main business.
I was thinking Trimetic was the business.
He had a brand new Record 7 gas pedal that I bought from him for my collection.

Southwind or eliminator bottom with a liberty top ??? not sure I see a Hallett, no bubble deck. Nice looking hull though

I believe he was talking about the bottom originating from a Hallett.
    The deck was retooled.
I could be completely wrong in my recollection of the conversion.
    That's my disclaimer

This looks like the Record 7 I bought. I had it for a few months and then sold it to Tom at Jet Boat Performance because I found an Eliminator bubble deck to restore. I talked to the builder for a while and he told me they used special resin when they laid them up. Cost twice as much as regular resin but was stronger than what everyone else was using.
Too much horsepower is almost enough!!!

My boat is fast.....on Craiglist or EBay.

    I've been 340mph+ with a boat........In the back of a C130!

Sorry for the delayed response! It came up on Craigslist. Just picked up another 19’ T deck Record 7 from an original owner for a steal. It is all original. Has some rot but looks like an easy fix.
