Got a kick out of this one.

    Another Craig's listing

I love the old Glastron Carlson CVX20, but come on.

It was interesting wandering around in there this morning. Lots of people confused and I guess it's a sign of the times (economically speaking).

Lots of boats for sale. Some guys selling pretty nice boats for pretty good prices. Others asking ridiculous amounts for so so boats, like our friend here.

I love the lines on those boats, but I sure wouldn't pay 9k for one.

In Oregon the boats you see on craigslist are about 2 to 3 times as much as what you can pickup down south. Some of the boats have been for sale for years. When i picked up my Tahiti the guy wanted $4500 for it and I told him your ****ing nuts and pointed out about 10 things that needed to be fixed and said I would give him $2500, he said no so i sayed see ya and started to get in my truck and he said I will take it and I walked back to the boat and looked at it again and said sorry 2k is all I will give ya. Then he brings out the title and it didnt even match the boat. But that was a simple error from who he bought it from

I don't think they sold for that much when they were new.

Guess I'm a little spoiled. There are so many down here you can almost always find a decent boat for a fair price. There were a number of them in the $2000-$4500 range that would've made a nice starter boat for someone. All needing work (what boat doesn't), but some running and useable while doing the fixes/upgrade work.

Like this one. O.K. I'm sure it needs some help in the gelcoat/paint department, looks like no interior and I got no clue what's going on in the bilge area, but supposedly a fresh pump and motor??????

Hawaiian w/BBF and Berk For $2500..

Or this little Tahiti. It's pretty clean. He doesn't say what pump is in it, so I'm guessing it's either a Panther or Jac. One thing's for sure.........the 90+ mph deal is a crock.

Tahiti w/520 cu in BBF ? Pump $4250

Or this clean looking Hawaiian minus motor, but setup pump and full interior. Looks pretty good. Maybe Timm at Tuff Enuff out in Avondale selling this one.

Hawaiian minus motor, but pump work done for $2250

Being in the car repair business for close to 30 years, this is just what you can expect from a lot of people that think the more they put into it, the more it's gonna' sell for.

If you put $5000 into a $500 car, what do you think it will sell for?

    $500.

You don't get extra points for performing basic maintenance.
It SHOULD have a good motor.
    It SHOULD have good paint.

People get angry when you point that out to them, but hey, that's the truth.

I looked at that tahiti, offered him a 1000. Paint is cracking bad, has a panther pump and needs alot of work. Looks good in the picture though

Before I got my boat I drove all over the state looking around, and must have looked at 20 or 30 boats.
Nothing but cracked hulls, trashed interiors, and over-run motors.
All being sold as "turn-key", "Lake ready", or my favorite one; "Race boat! Must see!!"....it had been parked under a giant tree for a year and had critters living in it. Couldn't even start the POS...

If I learned 1 thing it was..Don't trust the picture or the ad. Put you eyeball on it first. Good thing I did.

Kev..............buddy. Shame on you. You low balled that guy. Even if the paint was shot, it's a 90+ mph Panther pumped Tahiti. That's only the second one I've ever heard of that could top 90. That oughta be worth more than a grand?

Sorry I haven't made it by with that distributor yet. Been going crazy working on the boat and working........... at work.

True enough it's tough to tell by a picture. Especially the tiny ass'd pictures on Craig's list..

Dang thats a good deal for 680hp. Buy it, pull the motor and have it dyno'd then sue the dealer and ya get a free boat and extra cash to really build a 680hp motor lol.
