    I was looking at the other vid,and noticed a vid of Bikini Hunter's blown Tahiti.

    well there goes the "dont go over 500hp with 1/4 stringer" saying

    thats the same boat i have looks like ill be going with a blown setup afterall next year...

    No prob man, been doing alot of hp with 1/4 stringers for a long time. And my buddy has been running them in his race boat for a few years as well.... not a crack. Long as the glass is laid well you should be ok

    Hey Mat1840. Can you post a pic of You'r boat?
    If You have the same hull as BikiniHunter, His is a Tahiti Tiger, Which is exactly the same as My Kona. My Kona is a direct splash of the Tahiti, I dont think they changed any thing. The only differance is that the Kona's were built with full length stringer's...Hal

    Thats the old tired blown up 455.... wait till you see it in about 2 weeks. Ive done quite a few things

    is there a way to look up the vin number to tell what make and model it is... i know its a tahiti, but from what you said a "tiger" how many models did they have during that time????

    Mat this is a Kona,which belongs to Tim Thrift,which is exactly what Mine looks like ,before I started the resto.
    This is exactly like a Tahiti Tiger,and is the same as Bikini Hunter's boat.

    Matt,
    your boat is a splash of the Southwind 18, the most copied boat of the '70s.



    This boat that Hal and bead are talking about, a Kona, is a splash of the Tahiti Tiger. Two completly different boats from two different molds. Oh yeah, the boat in the video that started this thread is the old Tahiti tiger too, not the later 18 like your boat.
