Talk to 76Bonneville, he knows all the manufacturers stories. He probably has some original ads for it too. I've seen a few Chargers here and on SoCalJetBoats. Looks like you got a heck of a project ahead of you. I'm resto-moding a 78 Eliminator Bubble Deck. Lots of work, but worth it when you're done (at least I hope so lol). Good Luck with it!!!

Your boat is another splash of the Tahiti Tiger, Which is exactly the same as My boat, with the exception of the indention on the transom at the pump. Even has the same gell graphics as the Tahiti and the Kona. Mine is a Kona, which I belive to be the first splash of the Tahiti. There seems to have been several splashes of this hull with little or no change to the hull its self.
Is Yours a full stinger or shorty stringer? looks like a shorty, hard to tell from the pics.
There is a link to My build, in My signature if You want to check it out. Mine is basicly the same boat as Yours....Hal

You have the red headed step child of the pump world with that Golden eagle. It's the setback style Jacuzzi YJ that is only good to about 60 mph. If the hull is worth fixing up I'd think about swapping it out to a Berkeley style pump. Most guys would steer clear of that boat and just look for one with the Berk already.

I dont think it is a Tahiti. Tahiti ,I think, quit that style hull before '77 and the Tahiti did not have that indent in the transom for the pump. I believe it is a later splash after the Kona. My hull, a Kona, and the Tahiti are exactly the same with the exception that the Tahiti had short stringers and the Kona's have full length stringers.

Very well could be slpash! But I dont think the Kona had the ( cant think of the proper word ) width of the tahiti as that hull does. Indent is more an old sanger style. Lots of splashes in the 70's. M
