    Default Pump Question

At what point should a stock jet pump be modified for big hp? And....what should be done? I'm concerned about potentially breaking a stock pump with "too much power".

950-1000. Just curious if it possible to do serious damage with that. Obviously an aluminum impeller is out of the question.

Ive got the pump brace and thru bolt loader down so far. Is stainless mandatory? There kinda out of my budget, I was hoping bronze would do the job.

Rumor has it, Bronze can easily handle those numbers + some.

Ive heard the same but want more input/ideas/suggestions. My last engine made 800hp and I ran a bronze.

The bowl is another question. Are there any bowls I should stay away from?

Honestly, at even 1000 HP I doubt you could hurt any of the "name" bowls > Berk, AT, Aggressor, Dominator. I would however switch out any bowl bolts to studs
Believe I've read here, there was some casting flaws with a few Aggressor bowls but those were behind engines that made a few serious thousand HP.

I would still run a good shaft! Bronze would probably work. I have never ran a bronze impeller. I would try it out. I hope you don't have an aluminum in that Ultra tunnel

Your way cool with a Mag Bronze, 17-4 shaft. Bowls you want flow rate, 1st. Aggressor, then a Berk.... so pick your budget....

Sounds like you got a serious motor, any details on it?

You ought to bring that thing out to the drags once. It's a good place to dial in a setup like that. As far as the MB, from what I've been told you should be fine. But I would call a reputable pump builder to be sure.
