Default Thru-Transom vs Over Transom Headers

Any advantages from one to another? My boat currently has OT headers but I actually prefer the look and sound of transom exhaust and was thinking of converting over this winter to thru-transom headers, will my exisiting water lines work if I go with Bassett (have Bassetts on there now).

From what I understand you just use some of that flexible rubber exhaust pipe to connect to the tips?

Post up some thru-transom header pictures if you've got em!

    Thanks

I lose 300 r's by taking off my ot's(dry) and putting on the tt's. I'm sure a good part of that is the water injection. On the tt's the're injected AND the dump line of the motor goes into the collectors.

Is that compared to the stock logs, or thru-transom headers?

My boat is pretty slow anyways, really wouldnt notice 300 revs I don't think

The big advantages are you can get insurance on the boat, you can converse while running down the lake with a passenger and actually hear what they're saying and when you're done with that run, you're ears aren't ringing
After having the TT Bassetts, I doubt I will ever go back to OT's.

I have both sets of headers- the thru-transom's work fine for me- performance is still good- and they are not as offensive. I run on a river where OT's are seriously frowned upon. I put in an extra water Tee and a valve to only have as much water as necessary going into the system- just enough to keep my connector hose from the collector to the tips from burning. That is on top of the water going to the headers themselves. The thru-transom bassetts are still a large primary, free flowing header system.

Boat looks aweosme, are the waterline the same between the two? Thinking that when the time comes I'd like to just trade up with someone

thanks! that picture was taken this past weekend. It was first time out for the year and since last Nov.....I forgot how much a weekend on the lake relieves the stress!
The difference on the 2 is the water dumps into the collectors on the TT's instead of over board like on the OT's.

here are a couple of others

Is there a jacketed version of those headers, or injection only?

Duane at Hi-Tech Performance sells these-

not the same as the Bassetts but they are thru transom. They come is stainless stell and cost about $3K for the set.
Rewarder also makes a thru transom but I don't think they have a jacketed in that style either.

This is my second set of TT headers I just installed last month....The originals lasted 13+ seasons. The water cops never bother me.
