I'd give him $15 for the tongue jack. Everything else looks really rough.

    Understood.

Not trying to be an ass.

Just underwent a similar adventure a couple years ago. The boat I picked was probably in somewhat better condition than the one you're looking at, had a fresh pump but no motor. It came with some pieces, others were donated by my old boat, some were purchased used. It's still not done the way I wanted, but it's getting closer and I'll keep working on it.

Spent a ton of money getting the new/used one running and was on a pretty strict budget. Boat parts are expensive, aluminum has gone up, braided stainless line and fittings are really pricey.

Point is, it's really costly if you have to buy stuff. Much cheaper if you buy a boat that runs and already has most of the bits and may only require some upgrades and can be done over time to get it the way you want.

I honestly don't know if I would've gone the route I did two years ago in today's economy. Guess the point is, trying to inform others about the hidden (or not so hidden) costs of putting a parts boat together.
