    Default Single plane intake

Has anyone used one of the 'Professional Products Hurricane single plane intakes' that Summit Racing sells for BBC?

Nobody? the intake appears to be patterned after the Edelbrock Victor Jr.- and the price is right...

I would bet that it's basicily an illegal copy of the Edelbrock from China...but I don't have any proof...

I'd say Edelbrock's patents ran out on the Victor intakes 15+ years ago- so nothing illegal about it. I do hate to buy China stuff, but I have read some reviews that gave the Performance Products good reviews with casting quality and on the dyno. It may be made under license for all I know- lots of companies do that these days also. I'm looking around for a single plane- and looking at all my options.

Thanks for the feedback. What did you end up going with Hotbo? I know the real Edelbrock's are good intakes.
I'm looking at World and Dart also.

I believe you can buy the manifold by itself. I wouldn't buy any other manifold for a single carb app...

Interestingly enough, we run them on SBC dirt track engines, and have seen dyno results showing them making more power than the Edelbrock for that application.

i've herd the same about the sbc intakes, but man those bbc intakes are horrible internally. i bought 1 and the core had shifted so bad, i had to fill some of the intake jus to straighten it out, then remove from the other side
