Default Amount of fiberglass to cover stringer?

I am working on my boat for the first time in a long time and was wondering how many layers of glass will be necessary to sufficiently redo my stringer

I am trying to remeber when I did my stringers. I think I went with two 3 oz. layers of mat over the stringer down to the hull, and trimmed it about 4" from the stringers. Then I laid the cloth from one side of the hull over the stringer to the other side of the hull, and trimmed it off about 4" away from the stringer.

should be fine with that. Might be overkill but it will work.

what do you suggest to use?

I am pulling out the balsa out of my boat so i will have to reglass the rear 1/4 of my stringers.

    Thanks!

well, when i did mine i laid down some 2oz which is 1 1/2oz matt for the stringers to stick to, and covered them with 6oz which was really 4 1/2oz and a 1oz roving or cloth.
