    Default Coil mounting location

I was in my pops garage and came across a jacobs coil that has never been used. I decided to give it a try on my 455 since its not being used. My question is, Where the hell do I mount this thing? its huge! I was thinking about mounting it on the transom..........but im not sure if thats a good idea or not. The coil wire would have to be 1.5-2 ft or so.

Most just find a place to mount them on the engine itself. Sounds like yours might be a little out of the ordinary and you'll need a mount. This could be your first foray into making your own boat parts.
