    Default Scoop air cleaners

I bought a, what I call, a snorkel scoop. Are air cleaners used inside? If so, what type?

    Pic later.

I just run flame arrestors in mine, but I'm sure air cleaners would work. To be legal you'd most likely need the flame arrestor type from K&N or comparable.

What color are you going to paint the scoop Tim?

Flame arrestors only have to be used if the scoop faces the cockpit....legaly.
I would only use them if they're alot of bugs where you boat. They rape airflow. You can always take them and shed some screen if you wanna run em to keep the buggies out.

Thank you. You're right of course. I wouldn't think that he'd be running that scoop backwards though.

I've always heard that spark arrestors are big time air robbers. I might have to make a couple passes this summer with and without to see if there's any difference via gps and rpm readings.

Alot of people run nothing. I have my arrestors cleared out. Just the outside screen left. If you look in the scoop it looks legal.
