    Default Thanks Jett Performance Marine

Wanted to take a minute to thank Dan Nelson for another job well done. Put some time on my new BBF this weekend and am very pleased with the new build.

Picked up some RPM and some speed over the previous motor. The build is nothing extravagant and was done on my budget. It's a little 473 cu in (.060 over 460) 10:1 deal with a hydraulic flat tappet cam and designed to run on pump gas. Ran it on GPS this weekend and hit 83 mph and change on the motor. Had my girl friend, her son and a boat full of the usual river junk. Freshly packed 50 quart cooler, 12 pack cooler, full gas tanks 22 gallons, river anchor, four folding lawn chairs, several ropes, paddle, video camera, football etc. etc and me at 220 lbs.

Ran it today with the 200 shot of nitrous and the same load of stuff (minus girl friend and her son) and hit 90.5 mph on the GPS. Should be able to do a couple more MPH without all the river crap in the boat. The GW is friggin rock solid at 90+ and shut down is a non-event. Love this boat.

Best of all she starts with a bump of the key and looks like it will be as reliable as the last one he built for me.

    Thanks buddy.

P.S. Joey (TX-19) shot it with his radar gun and got me doing 168 mph. Somehow I don't think that was right though. Wait a minute........maybe my gps was wrong?????????

He set the intake on mine and did a real nice job. When I bought this boat a couple years ago
the intake was laying loose in the bottom of it. I try to do all my own stuff, but motors and Intake
reset are two things I don't trust myself with. Dan's always done me right.

It's right where I had hoped to be. Considering the mild and relatively low buck build I'm very stoked. The nice thing is it's just a tame pump gas motor unless on the button.

The down side is the pump was slipping a bit after the nitrous pass. I pulled the handhole cover and found a blade is missing about a 2" chunk. I'm trying to find a used bronze or stainless impeller for it now. Apparently 700 hp was a bit much for the aluminum.

Decided to skip past the bronze and go right to stainless. Buy once, cry once. It's on the way.
