    Default Frustrated!!

So I get all the problems fixed from my last trip, i replaced the plugs and re timed the motor and changed my carb. I just hooked up the boat to the garden hose and ran it for 2 min or so................i then check the oil !!GREY!!! WTF?? I checked the oil yesterday and it was as clear as fresh oil, today right now its all greyd out and currently draining from the boat. I did a quick compression test and i was about 160 in all cyl.
I dont get it, i ran it on tues for a few hours and it was fine, i fired it today and its butt monkeyed!

You may have a problem, but you most likely had the garden hose flowing too quickly......or you left the hose running while motor was not running. The hose needs to be flowing slowly, and someone needs to be there to turn it on once the motor is already running and turn it off before you shut down the engine......Don't panic yet drain oil and try again. I hope this helps...everyone has had this prob before. good luck.

Oil filter too.......I think you are problably going to be alright. Sometimes it takes two oil changes to get water out.

on my cruiser, i always pull the log off that side, then plastic bag around the filter. it's a pita, but it's the only way to get to the thing.

If you have not stared it again you may want to pull the spark plugs before you turn that motor over again. If there is enough water still in any of the cylinders you can do serious damage by hydro locking it. Pull all the plugs and turn the motor over without the plugs in to clear the cylinders.
