I have been fighting a porpoise problem for quite a while on my Daytona. I pulled 4 of the shoe shims out because my motor didn't make enough HP to allow the shoe to be that low compared to the previous owner. It gained me 5 mph and a pretty good porpoise at 70. I just couldn't find the right set up. Well anyway I have installed my 572 and decided to add all but 1 shoe shim back. Now the porpoise was at 85. I gave Duane a call and he without hesitation told me where to run the ride plate (the boat was set up by HTP). Now the boat has no porpoise and easily hits 90 at almost 5000 feet. I imagine if I could drag it down to Missouri I would have a 100 MPH boat. I have also been fighting an oil pressure issue under hard aceleration. Duane helped me figure out that I wasn't running enough engine temp and I need to change my oil pump, pickup and probably will need a different pan. I know he is a busy guy but took the time on the phone to help me out. It is nice talking to a pro.
