Hay everybody. Recently picked up a 1978 spectra 19ft. Was just wondering about the weight, strength and just overall info about the spectra's. It seems kinda heavy yet it also seems to flex alot. It has a 460 with berkeley pump. I will get some pics soon. Thanks.

Great hull - what do you mean by flex ? Thing should be as ridgid as a sailors pecker on third leave ?

As far as I know spectra's are full stringer boats. I'm sure someone that knows more about these boats than I do can verify that or let me know I'm wrong. Does it have a full floor? My floor hides the full stringers in my boat. Spectras are a quality hull. Let's see some pics!

Full stringers - The flex may be in your false floors . take out the interior and check plywood ....

a 460 and a jet -- 46 - 54 mph wot ;) But the boat will take the power you give it ... to a point

I have a new model that has 1/4 stringers! Good hulls that will take power! I do have deck shake but due to no bulkhead whitch would help in the shake! Sounds like you need to check the floor and stringers just to be sure! The older boats were layed up very solid! Speed now with a stock motor and a fresh pump A impellor 61 MPH @ 4200 RPM! WT:)devil

Welcome to the boards too!
