    Default The New Avenger...

    Hello everyone again..
    Figured new boat, new thread..lol

So as some of you help with alot of ?s i had on the other boat It was a Cee Bee Avenger as well except it is a Model 185 with the wrap windshield.

The New boat is Also a Cee Bee Avenger.. Not sure of the Model.
but it dont have the windshield like the other so it has to be a lesser model.
But is blue, been painted at sometime, paint is not great.

Engine is a BBC 454 with performer intake, and edelbrock Carb

    Jet is a Berkley 12JB-A-H-SS

Hull seems pretty solid, floors all seem good, has saddle tanks(alum).
interior is not great, but not to bad either (it will get me through the rest
    of the year).
Bought it in Sacramento.. for a reasonable price i think..

    Here are some pics..

Ok so there are some things
Like it doesnt like to go over 4200-4300ish RPM in water.
which limits me to about 48-50ish MPH GPS..
The Engine is pretty much stock except for the edelbrock Carb and intake.

Will a bigger lift cam help some ?

Also i have the Jet from the Other boat too

The Current Jet is a 12JB-A-H-SS

the other is a 12JC A.. Which Jet would be better for my setup ?

Would I be better off swapping out the Jets ? and using the 12JC ?

Thanks guys, for the advice, and sugestions that you guys will give..

cool old Avenger, should be a Fun boat.
not sure about your RPM issues.
I would keep the JB, if its clean inside. (impeller)

Get a hold of Glen Schuler at Pleasure Boat Specialities (408) 432-0217 in San Jose. He is a dealer and knows the boats real well. He also does jet drives and should be able to help you out.

5000 feet the air gets thin and carbed boats and efi for that matter doesnt run with the most horsepower it can produce, your basically sucking away air the higher you go. your rpm issue could be its running very fat and cant pull through. I bet you would see a difference at the river in overall performance. if you havent already id go ahead a jet it for the elevation your going to be running.

another thought is you boat has a ski'er impeller in it, how'd it tow? instant pop out of the water?
