Default CP Tunnel set up questions???

    Another set up question,

I have read many threads on set up and get the general idea, I would appreciate all help on my CP tunnel.

This is a new set up for this boat,
    The pump was set back.
My motor is heavier (blower) than previous owners.

I started out at 0* on the plate, sponsons would not come out of the water.
2* up plate - water broke in front of driver seat at plane but nosed over at 3000 RPM.
4* up plate - water broke behind driver seat at plane but nosed over at 3000 RPM.

    Set up is as follows:

    Motor - 540 blown 940hp tune
Rear motor plate to transom, at stringer - 28 1/4"
    Droop - Berk 8* ?

    Loader
    Inducer
    Impeller - B (for a start point)

Intake - Berk. set at 6*
    Plate - 3* up
    Wedge - 4* down
    Shoe - 5/8"
Nozzle insert - 3.125 Changed to 3.205 No more nose over.

How much total up is typical for this hull type?
What kind of pressures should I be shooting for?
    Intake?
    Bowl?

    Thanks!!

doesnt soung like your too far off. that loader might help you after its plained, but the v blocker might also hurt outta the hole. i ditched the v block in mine, and had jack make me a new one with a removeable block. try to get your lift off the shoe. i know mine didnt like a lot of shoe depth, so if you lower it do it a little at a time.

i dont remember much about the plate set up, but i can prob get you some pics for a rough comparison.

The shoe in your picture is not a backcut shoe. It looks like it could be tapered. Is it thicker towards the front and thinner towards the rear? Also are you sure that the intake is set in at 3*? It looks like it is more than that at least from the pictures.

    Looking forward to the pic's

3* is an estimate, I dont have a good reference point for the digital degree finder. It's 1'' high at front.

You need a 3 degree backcut shoe. Yours is not. Biting edge of shoe even with keelline Loader ramps 1/4 to 1/2 inch below keelline Ride plate set at 4degrees Droop set at 6.5degrees Then play with blocker, mines at 6 inches Do you have an inducer?

My set up was plate 1/8 in up from keel never moved it, I think you need more up start with 1* and then 1/2* deg at a time, I ran 7 in of blocker in the middle and stingers all the way up on the loader!! Your boat is very similar to my old boat!

First of all..Don't rush into everything you read on the Internet

    Why was the intake reset?

Blown motor looks good in the boat!

    No rush, considering others opinions/experience.

    Previous owner reset it, back.

Thanks! Built by Cory at B&G.

I only skimmed throug hthis stuff but will read more when I have more time.

Im with steve, 1.5 up to start but will likely want a touch more with the added supercharger weight

As far as shoe its hard to say without knowing the keel depth and shape but start .125 or .100 above keel. Dont be afraid to try a BC or Flat shoe if its an ass dragger. 13" opening roughly maybe to start. Id go open center loader, 4 x 1-5/8 or somewhere around there. Plate 2 degrees, 3.125 insert and see what happens

    Keep us posted.

Larry, we ran the plate at 0` and the nozzle at 2` down with 1100hp. Ran the plate 2` up and nozzle at 2`up with 800hp. boat hunts until on throttle hard. Intake is set 6`at suction mounting surface. As for back cut shoe i would stay away from it. It may be over charging the pump, thats why nosing over above 3000. You might open nozzle up, we ran 3.187 or take some shoe out. SORRY it took so long to get back to you, computer crashed and wasn"t ready for new one. Good luck.
