Default any one run foot pedal & Throttle?

I want to use my hand throttle for skiing, foot throttle for playing...just wondering what the easiest way to set that up might be.

I went behind there today and interestingly enough the hand throttle already has a cable hooked up to it, but its on some sort of metal slider and doesn't seem to move?

    VERY possible.

but I am not quite sure how that other cable would move.

I would just unhook it on both ends and try to move it.
That type of cable should move easily if it's good.

That looks like an extra spot for the shift for an outdrive! Set two plates for cables on the carb and have one for push and one for pull. Whatever the hand control is get the foot pedel to do reverce! But the hand control will move when the foot is moved!

    Is this a jet?

i would be weary of a static hand control. there is so much resistance on the engine because of the pump. if your foot has to push the pedal the natural reaction is to let off. a hand throttle i fel woul result in lazy driving that could be hazardous in a performance small boat. (off shore boats are a different thing. -if they are off shore- more room to avoid full throotle collision etc) and the big big guys use a navi and trottle guy.

It is a jet, my uncle ran it on the hand throttle for years since he mostly pulled skiers. If I remember right, it would also increase the rpms the further back in reverse he would pull it.

It isn't something I plan on using a lot, it is for when I pull skiers...which come to think of it...is a lot. I just find the hand throttle easier to give a constant speed with.

If the cable is frozen...is that something you can 'unfreeze' or is it replace the cable time?

Replacement is the best thing to do with cables!

My CVX-20 has a hand throttle; The only way to go for skiing....I'll admit it's only running 400hp, topping out at 62 mph. Years ago, I got a ride behind my friend's Kona w/foot throttle; That was "fun"- every wave was a new experience in being jerked off the ski.
'course, I'm a total freak because I ski behind a jet...You can only ski behind a direct drive!

ok...cable was frozen up, but after a couple tugs on each end it is free as a bird. That assembly still doesn't seem to be moving though. Any other thoughts?
