    Default diverter handle (modification)?

Getting a manual handle today and was wondering if anyone has ever shortened the handle. I imagine it makes it a little more difficult to move. The reason I ask is that the only good place to put it in my boat would be directly under my right knee. Or just to the inside of it.

The handle is "cast" and doesn't lend well to welding as I recall you will also reduce the mechanical advantage a bit as well Tom

Thanks for the heads up, when I pick it up this afternoon I'll see how easy it would be to modify. I can cut it down and weld it if I have to. The reason it can't go further left (inbetween legs) is my subfloor meets the bottom of the boat.
Tom, I know a few tricks for welding cast aluminum.

my boat is tiny inside and that space is REALLY limited.

my boat has it in between the seats. there is not much room in my boat at all. when I get home I will send you some pics on your phone and see what you think.

and it works great right there. I didn't like it between my legs

I'm gonna have to hang a red tag on this sumbitch when I tow. I think to the right of my right knee is gonna have to work. Where should I tap the transom housing for the bulkhead fitting? It's one of the rubber sealed conduit fitting deals.
