I have a Berkley 12-JC pump on my 21Ft daycruiser that needs work but I ran across a 12-JG pump pretty cheap . What are the diffrences, is it a better pump, would it be to my advatage to switch pumps . Appreciate some guidance Thanks
The only real difference between the JC and JG is that the JG has a split bowl and allows you to run wedges and droops. The suction housing/shaft/impeller are the same for all practical purposes.
If you're buying a used pump, I would put change the bowl bushings, thrust bearing and seals at the very least...and while you're in there check the impeller and wear ring.
Thanks for the info
