My 455 went 54MPH with an 800DP, and 57MPH with a 750 vac sec if that helps...The conditions were the same, so I can only assume the 800 was too much for it......Mild hyd cam, alum intake, wet logs.......Ray

I am running a holley 750 marine with vac secondaries. Works great right out of the box! I have a mild cam JM25-28 that mondellos offers, performer intake, 1.7 rockers, flat top pistons and headers. I am turning a Jacuzzi WJ with a energizer kit A impeller at 5100rpm and getting 62mph.

Is your suspected lack of fuel due to the carb/jetting, or the fuel delivery system... ie: fuel pump, fuel line diameter/routing, type of filter, pickup(s) in the tank? All things to consider

I run a Holley 750 vac. (3310), but have tried a 600 vac. Holley (1850), and 625+750 Carter's... they all ran the engine pretty close to one another... I run an AA impeller

try a Edelbrock 750cfm on it!...might just do the trick...also...i think Ray has run a Holley spread bore 750cfm vac sec on his test boat (Olds) with good luck...just sayin' my .02 cents

Ron, that is an 800 DP Spread bore carb, and no I haven't put gas in it since I went through it....... Still waiting to build a spread bore cable plate for under the carb.....AND, the 800 will be too much fuel for my 455 as a 4150 800DP went 54MPH, and the 750 vac sec on it now runs 57MPH........... I responded to his thread in spam about another 3310-3 750 I have here in Cal........Ray

So....if i replace my 2 660's with a 750 vac sec i should be able to run faster
    than 100?

Ah, that would heavily depend on what else is in the motor. He is running a hyd cam, and looking for "fun"....... I think my motor, and his, might be close in fuel requirements, that doesn't mean smaller is always better........... Most of the time it is though........Ray
