My old hand winch on the trailer finally gave up the ghost last weekend, after 34 year though I guess it was time
Anyways went up to Tractor Supply Company last night and bought this one
My question is this, on my old winch I could have the strap coming off the bottom of the pulley and it made a nice straight line to the bow hook, this new winch the strap comes off the top and has to make a downward angle to the bow hook, and it doesnt hold the boat down as well to the little V pad on the trailer. I guess my old winch was a two way, and this new one is a one way.
Any reason I can't just mount it backwards with the handle on the left side of the trailer so that I can run the strap off the bottom of the pulley...? Any other ideas?
