Back when the boats we all love were new, my father had one. He can't remember make or model.. or anything about it for that matter. It was the 70's, maaan.
I have been looking around at vintage jet boats wanting to step into a classic one. I love the murals, the crazy colors, etc. I am wanting to not only show off some classic photos, but see if you all can help identify it just from a few photos. I know he towed it with a 71' Mach 1 mustang, color matching of course.
The only thing he said he can truly remember about the boat is that the mural was all 3D and stuff!
Thanks! This boat was a Mendota Slough boat for many years. So maybe someone even might know its' where abouts! If so, I would love to hear from you... cash would talk...
Wow. Great looking boat. Good luck finding it. You can almost make out the numbers on it. Might be able to find it that way if you have any other pics. Gotta love the slots with the spinners on the Stang.
No info on the boat, but a beauty. Back in 1990 I bought a '73 mach I and installed a 5.0 FI engine, AOD w/custom valvebody, airdam and suspension mods- 24 mpg @ 70. I was going to use it to tow my CVX-20, but by the time I found the boat, I'd had to sell the mach I. I bought a '99 Formula w/LS and towed for 6 years- 18 mpg towing, 30.4 @ 75! The Mustang would of stayed with the Formula thru the turns, too. The formula was a blast, and quicker than snot, but the mach I was MY car, all customized- the kid who bought it would get pissed every time he started talking to any mustang people in hayward, 'cause they would say, "Oh, yeah, that's Eric's car"...punk didn't bring back my battery, so screw 'im!
I have a neighbor that has a 76-78 Bahner the barrel back like your old mans boat was, The boat is in restoration, and I believe he wants to sell it. If you are interested in it, let me know.
The boat is now capped, bottom has been blueprinted, the entire boat is ready for Gelcoat or Paint, the trailer is in primer and just about ready for paint, there is a Berkeley 12JG pump, and im sure there is more that goes with it too.
Interesting... Where is it located? You know what he wants for it?
I am in no rush to find something. I may spend the next year watching for sale ads and asking around boat people locally if they have seen this one. If the opportunity came, I would want to try to buy THAT boat
