    Default 1976 Marlin / Sidewinder ?'s

I am trying to find out if anyone has info on a 1976 Marlin Sidewinder. Are they the same boat or two different builders? I am trying to find the same boat my Dad had when we were young. I thought he said it was a 1976 Marlin but searching online it seems there are 2 similar boats. Any help would be great. Ours had a 460 w/Berkly pump and Jet-O-Vator. Thanks.

if you haven't been there yet, this site will answer all of your questions,

    www.sidewinder-boats.com

there was a bunch of splashing going on with the sidewinders, and depending on the year they were built in different parts of the country. hope the site helps ya out, they know a lot about the winders.

My son was looking at a Sidewinder on KSL that was a wacker job. He just told me that he learned a crap load about them on that site.

Thanks for the help, now i'm pretty sure it was a Marlin and not a Sidewinder.

I have listed my 73 marlin SS, here in Washington State on this website. My Brother worked at Marlin Boats in Renton Wa in 1973 , where he laid up the boat in my ad. the company was owned by Don Whatmore, a 2 time world champ. His boats were made very thick and his design was ahead of it's time. Had mine to 90+, very steady and still climbing. If you are gonna build one, don't make the BB mistake. My stroker chev creates the same HP and is 400lbs. lighter. It is the only boat in this class I would ever want to own. The best possible platform, considering the risk. Good luck in your quest, best regards to your Dad. Sounds like my kinda guy.
