[/IMG][/IMG]well i finally got the gps number and im not happy! 80.7? wtf!!! all motor,no spray .i know im all corked up with flame arresters and baffles so they will come out and ill rejet the carbs to match more air flow.other than that i guess its set up.currently im runnin a straight snoot with a 1/2 inch thick wedge(*?)...1/2 flat shoe( no pressure taps) ride plate 4* but im not runnin out of water im runnin out of rpms...5100,used to be 5200 without baffles.ss "a" 600 sumthin horse 532 ford(only desktop dyno)...my plan ,first, finish hookin up the spray, look for a used droop(am turbine) try diff shoes.id like to find my best setup then spray it.......any thoughts are appreciated ...mike heres some video

    Mike

It looks like the water (white spray) is breaking at the driver's seat. Especially in the last video TX vs. Cheyenne. You can barely see in the small frame video, but if you play it full screen you can see it pretty clearly. The boat is really flat too. I'm not doing a whole lot better but for comparisons sake I'll put up a couple vids of my TX from last year. Gps'd at 87 and change. See slight bow up attitude and where the water is coming off the boat? I've still got some work to do too.

Definitely looks like setup issues are holding you back.

My boat is a TX19 with approximately 650 hp. Added another 50 hp this year and hit 90 but no videos of that.

    Videos from last year

Here are some runs from Randy (HBjet's) TX-19. He's got quite a few more ponies than we do though. Again check where the water is breaking off the boat, particuarly in the last run. Not to make excuses, but the river was pretty sloppy the day I shot this. You can see all the boats and skis around him in the distance mixing things up. The last pass was probably the cleanest and easiest to see where the water is breaking.

A GPS is humbling isn't it! Yours is riding flat as Dan said. I don't know what is right but some run a backcut shoe I run a tapered shoe. Jack at MPD likes the backcut and sets up from there. The intake set will play a big part and so will loader and the bottom of the boat! Good luck! WT

Coby is right. My pump was an MPD deal and it's got a backcut shoe. If I could find a tapered that would fit my bolt pattern, I'd give it a go just to see what it did. Also would like to try some different loaders.

Your RPM drop could be due in part to air conditions. I lost a hundered or so rpm since it's gotten really hot here in Arizona.

One thing I'm pretty sure of....... There's more speed in your boat without having to add any horsepower. Just try some different setup stuff. I'd definitely try a different shoe, droops, wedges, ride plate angles, loaders etc. if you can get your hands on them. I know MPD can make you up a backcut or tapered shoe without seeing the boat. They did it for me on my old Kachina. I sent them my flat shoe and some measurements, they sent me back a backcut with shim pack so I could adjust it. It wasn't cheap, but the quality of work was outstanding.

Unfortunately I couldn't tell you what would work. I have a tendency to flounder around and try all kindsa of weird stuff. I can usually find a setup that works, but tend to stumble onto it. The way I go about things it's more luck than skill.

A back cut shoe from Jack will help get the ass end up.

This is the setup I have and it is a good starting point! 2* tapered shoe 3* up on rideplate from 0* keel Place Diverter short droop with 2*or2.5* pin angle with 6* wedge up! Loader is an MPD with a small blocker for lift! I hope this will help! And remember that this does not work on every TX but it is a good starting point! WT

the flatness on the launch video is due to the diverter being all the way down for holeshot i guess i didnt get it trimmed up fast enough. i can air the boat out with the diverter and can feel the speed pick up.the sail away video shows the water breaking further back......how much is this mpd shoe deal???how about diff loaders ...how much???

Figure if you want to start going fast the sky is the limit on money. It all depends what your pocket book can do and what you want the final outcome to be. (How fast do you want to go) I have spent a small fortune getting my Cp19' lake, ski boat to run 100 mph.

Hate to say it, but unless you made the entire run (as well as the other two) with the diverter all the way down, the boat is riding flat and wet IMO.

I watched all three videos pretty intently and numerous times. The boat didn't appear to be airing out in any of them. I feel mine is too flat and yours is even moreso.

With a proper setup you should have water breaking at the last few inches of hull and I'm not talking about having to run 1000 hp to do it.

I'm just trying to help. If you'd rather I not......... let me know.

Coby's stuff above looks like a real good starting point. Mine's a little different, but again they're all different and I'm not entirely happy with mine just yet. More things to try. In my mind that's actually the fun part of all this.

I had some major clearance issues with my pump, it was slippin really bad .. My TX was only runnin 79.2 GPS @ 5600 RPM with a "A" cut with about 625HP .. I did bye a MPD loader from Jack and that seemed to help but i just had to take my pump out and get a rebuild on it .. I should get it back next week and i'll see what shes gonna run.. Not sure how tight your pump is but you might have some of the same issues ... Now when I did run baffels it killed my motor .. Good luck with it and we all won't it runnin like the "Red Dragon", that is 1 bad TX
